Genians Security Center says it caught a spear-phishing campaign on 17 July 2025, attributed to a state-backed hacking group, posing as a South Korean military agency requesting review of a draft ID card. The ID photo was a deepfake whose metadata, Genians says, showed it was made with ChatGPT, which refuses to copy IDs but will draw a 'mock-up'.
