A child sexual abuse survivor has sued xAI in US federal court in California, alleging Grok used real images of the plaintiff's childhood abuse to generate new child sexual abuse material that spread on X. The proposed class action says the class may include "at least thousands of minors"; xAI and owner SpaceX did not respond to requests for comment.
Worker Info Exchange (WIE) International filed a class action in Amsterdam District Court on Wednesday for several thousand drivers in the UK and six EU countries, alleging Uber's "dynamic" pay algorithm cut earnings and breached the GDPR through automated decisions. Uber said it "categorically" rejects the allegations. Oxera, hired by WIE, estimates 48% of Dutch drivers lost an average €7,508 a year.
The D.C. Court of Appeals struck Deutsche Bank's brief after attorney Loishirl W. Hall confirmed four cited cases did not exist and had come, unverified, from Google's generative AI search tool. Hall's former firm, McCabe, Weisberg & Conway, said it only became "fully aware" after the show-cause order; the court called the implication it did nothing on its own "surprising, to say the least."
Tesla has reached a confidential settlement, filed in California federal court, over a February 18, 2023 crash in which a Model S on Autopilot hit a stationary fire truck at about 70 mph, killing the driver and seriously injuring the driver's brother. The deal followed a May 2025 ruling by Judge Vince Chhabria that the name "Autopilot" was itself "misleading."
The Bombay High Court granted actor Shruti Haasan ad-interim protection against AI-generated deepfakes, morphed images, chatbots, fake endorsements and unauthorised merchandise using her identity, finding a "very strong prima facie case." Justice Madhav Jamdar said the damage could not be remedied by money alone; some defendants' lawyers promised takedowns once links are shared, while other respondents failed to appear.
Tanzania's High Court at Dodoma could not locate two Court of Appeal decisions, quotations included, cited by counsel Johnson Johannes Kachenje; the 1986 law-report page cited belongs to a different case. Principal Judge M.M. Siyani called them possible AI-hallucinated "ghost cases" and ordered Kachenje to produce them or show cause why he should not face discipline.
In a California trademark dispute, Judge Stanley Blumenfeld Jr. ordered defense counsel Ashley D. Posner to explain quotations the court could not find in cited cases, including Yost and Oakland Tribune, and allegations attributed to a complaint paragraph that lacks them. Counsel had certified one motion used no generative AI; the court stressed it has not determined any rule was violated.
Brazilian broadcaster Globo released an AI-generated promo for its second-half programming in which Luciano Huck becomes the Hulk and Marcos Mion pulls off a mask to reveal Tom Cruise's face, alongside likenesses of Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth and others. Fans mocked its obviously artificial look, one asking whether the Hollywood actors knew; the video vanished from Globo's social channels, and Globo did not comment.
Cypriot actor Giorgos Zenios plans to go to court over viral AI videos by a group called "Ai Studios" showing Zenios's character Rikkos Mappouros, used without permission, slapping political figures; some viewers assumed the actor was involved. The anonymous creator apologised, called it a non-commercial satirical experiment and offered to remove the video and even close the account.
